2 Steps to a Healthy Event Experience

Health and wellbeing is an important part of life – and your next major corporate event.  When you provide a healthy event, you’re letting your attendees know that you have their best interests in mind.  It creates a positive atmosphere that leads to more successful events, happier attendees – and a higher rate of return.  It’s in your best interests to make sure your guests feel well looked after during your event.  Here are some simple steps you can take to make your event experience a healthy one.

Better Food

Healthier food will probably cost you a bit more than the standard catering options would; you end up paying for freshness.  However, it’s something that your attendees will really appreciate in the long run.  Making sure you have vegetarian or vegan options available isn’t just an issue of health; its respect for your attendees – you don’t want to offend or upset attendees by not offering them something they feel they can eat!  Choice is a key factor here; by offering a vegetarian choice you’re also giving habitual meat-eaters the option to try something a little healthier.

Incentivize Movement

Many big corporate events involve sitting in one meeting, walking to another room to sit down and listen to someone give a talk, walking to another room to sit down and have lunch, and so forth.  All that sitting and sedentary activities aren’t particularly good for the body – it’s good to get up and move more frequently!  More active activities, getting your attendees to stand up and move around the room mid-event, is a good way to get a bit of physical activity into your event.  Studies have shown that when people are more active, they’re also more productive.

In addition, you could hold breakout events that have more to do with fitness than the theme of your major event.  Workout sessions, coached yoga or even something fun like dancing or mobile games are a way to add movement and activity to your event plan.
