Fantastic Corporate Event Ideas

People are always looking for the next big thing – new ideas on how to make a corporate retreat, award ceremony or gala more appealing and less of the same-old, same-old.  Strong underlying messages and purposes help make a corporate event a success.  Here are some great ideas to add to your next corporate events to help make them a smashing success.

Off-Site Activities

While great event planners will help you find venues that allow you to get the most out of your event.  Sometimes, however, it’s best to leave the venue behind and schedule activities that no venue could hold.  5Ks or golf outings are a great way to add fun to your corporate event – and a way to stave off cabin fever on multi-day events in the same hotel and same meeting rooms day in and day out.

Gamification

Most of us appreciate some healthy competition.  It’s a way to break up the monotony of meetings and inject a little fun into an otherwise standard day of work.  Games, contests and activities can also be a great way to aid with team-building and improve performance down the road.  Gamification can range from complex, event-wide and multi-day competition to something as simple as a room where people can blow off steam with a game of ping pong.  Escape rooms are a big growing trend – a group of people are locked in a room, and have to complete certain tasks and challenges to “escape”.

Charging Stations

No one goes anywhere without an electronic device these days – cell phones, laptops, tablets, you name it.  That means that people run out of juice, meaning there will be crowds around outlets, trying to squeeze some time in to get their devices up to full power again.  Charging stations could be an interesting networking idea for corporate events and those that have a standing platform attached would be useful in initiating discussions while devices charge.
